Publisher's Description:

CMAoD is a ver powerful, and intuitive - easy-to-use - Windows MAC Address identifying and modifying Utility which allows users to change MAC address for almost any Network Interface Cards (NIC) on the Windows 2000, XP, and 2003 Server systems. CMAoD can do the following: set specific MAC address of a network interface set the MAC randomly | set a MAC of another vendor | set another MAC of the same vendor | set a MAC of the same kind (eg: wireless card) | Indentifys a manufactorer of a NIC by given MAC-Addres. What means MAC-Address? The MAC address is a unique value associated with a network adapter - also known as hardware or physical addresses or host-id. They uniquely identify an adapter on a LAN. MACaddresses are 12-digit hexadecimal numbers (48 bits in length). By convention, MACaddresses are usually written in the following two format: 00A0C914C829 The first half of a MACaddress contains the ID number of the adapter manufacturer. These IDs are regulated by an Internet standards body. The second half of a MACaddress represents the serial number assigned to the adapter by the manufacturer. In the example: 00A0C914C829 The prefix 00A0C9 indicates the manufacturer is Intel Corporation. CMAoD allows you to dhange the MacAddress of your network card to any destination Mac address! Just select or type in the new Mac address and push the "Set new MAC" button! Why shoul I change my MAC-Address? Some software can ONLY be installed and run on the systems with pre-defined MAC address in the license file. If you need to install one of these software to another system with a different Network Interface Card (NIC) because your NIC is broken, CMAoD will come handy. However, you are responsible to comply with the software vendor's licensing agreement. Some Cable Modem ISP's assign IP addresses base on the PC's MAC addresses.
