     Batch Scan to e-Mail is a program that is designed to increase productivity in the distribution of a company?s mail.

The user separates the mail and opens it as usual; however, instead of hand delivering it, the user places a document separator sheet on top of the file. The separator sheet is similar to a fax cover page in that it contains who it is to be delivered to. The difference is that the cover page has bar codes on it that contain the users email address.

Once the mail has been separated into piles with the cover pages on top they are stacked and scanned with a copier?s scan to folder option. (a TWAIN compliant scanner can also be used)

The scanned files are sent to a folder that is monitored. When a file arrives the barcode is read, the cover page dropped, and each page after the cover page is added to the file until another cover page is found. This process continues until the entire file is separated into an individual PDF file for each recipient. The PDF is then e-Mailed to the recipient?s address that was contained in the barcode.
